WOCATI News: The Newsletter of the World Conference of Associations of Theological Institutions
ANNOTATED AGENDA
Allow me to assign to each one of us some areas of reflection and some tasks in order to have a successful and productive meeting.
I am thinking of kindly asking the hosting association (ANZATS, i.e. Kathleen) to lead the opening prayer (Monday, Dec 8), and Edison a 15 minutes prayer/Bible study on Wednesday, Dec 10. We are going to have two full days on Business (Monday and Wednesday), and Tuesday on any other exposure events, so kindly prepared by our hosts: dinner, visits and any other guided tour they decide.
The two full days will be divided into four sessions: one in the morning and one in the afternoon each working day, in which we are going to discuss matters of
1. financial, (b) technological, (c) administrative and (d) theological concern.· Nam Soon and Edison are kindly asked to present some thoughts and proposals on how WOCATI's survival can be secured;
· Bill and Hyacinth on how we can re-orient WOCATI's activities;
· Leonor and Tevita on what amendments in our Constitution and By-Laws we can recommend to WOCATI member associations; and
· myself and Kathleen on whether we can initiate a new vision for WOCATI, and why not for the future of Theological Education.I propose the above assignments roughly according to your proposals in the Assembly's final session.
On (a) Bill will also report on the present financial situation, and possible cuts in administrative costs, by transferring our money to Europe; our future sponsor or myself, but also any othe Executive will add further proposals.
On (b) Bill and Hyacinth will make concrete proposals along the lines they indicated in Chiangmai, but not only;
On (c) Leonor, the only experienced member of the Executive as being also in the previous one, and Tevita will propose changes in the constitution to make it less complicated, as it was proposed in Chiangmai after the dead-lock of the Assembly; and finally
On (d) Kathleen, if possible in consultation with Christiaan, and myself will reflect (as starters) on the future of WOCATI.
All of us, of course, will add to the reflection of the starters on all items.
The first session on Monday, after the opening worship, will start with reports from each of us, personal since Chiangmai, as well as special on events related to Theological education. The last session on Wednesday will be followed by ordinary Business (next EC - minutes - communication etc. and AOB).PV
